E3 2018: Call of Duty Black Ops 4 gets Black Ops Pass

Black Ops 4 will deviate from Activision’s traditional DLC distribution method and introduce the Black Ops Pass.

Activision are calling this a ‘live season’ and say this ‘represents a new approach to post-launch content’. Instead of the traditional four DLC map pack expansions, Activision will launch content in one block but it will supposedly be faster than ever before.

The Black Ops Pass will include 4 all-new zombies experiences, 12 multiplayer maps and 4 exclusive Blackout characters. Blackout is, of course, the game’s interpretation of a Battle Royale mode.

There will also be the day one bonus of ‘Classified’ which is a bonus Zombies experience available at launch.

According to Activision support, you can’t purchase individual parts of the Black Ops Pass and it ‘may only be purchased as a bundle’.

It has also been confirmed by Activision Support that the only way you’ll have access to the Black Ops Pass content at launch is if you purchase the ‘Digital Deluxe, Digital Deluxe Enhanced or Pro Editions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.’

However, they have confirmed that the Black Ops Pass will be purchasable as a ‘standalone offering at a later date’.

What do you think of the Black Ops pass? Will you purchase a special edition to get access to all the content from day one or wait for the standalone release? Will you ignore it entirely?
