E3 2018: Fallout 76 DLC is free apart from cosmetics

In the recent NoClip Documentary, Bethesda have confirmed Fallout 76 will have free DLC post launch.

The aim is that the game’s post launch content DLC will be funded by the sale of the game’s cosmetic items.

Updates are planned ‘for years to come’ and Bethesda have even said that they are committed to making tweaks to the game depending on how certain things are received. They consider Fallout 76 a ‘live game’.

Bethesda also confirmed during E3 that Fallout 76 will eventually receive mod support though that will not be at launch.

This is new territory for Bethesda who have traditionally sold DLC separately (see Fallout 3 and Fallout 4) but it’s a direction they’re prepared to take. Because someone is going to want to nuke your face off while wearing the party hat from Fallout 3, right?

The fascinating deep-dive documentary from NoClip shows new footage, concept art, and explores the inspiration behind the new multiplayer Fallout 76.

It’s absolutely worth a watch and really explains why Bethesda are trying something new with Fallout 76. It also gives you chills and sets the emotions running when you hear that music. So set aside some time from all this E3 madness and give it a peek.

Fallout 76 launches on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on November 14, 2018.
