Gears of War: Judgement gets free DLC from Maxim

Mens Magazine, Maxim, is about to show you COG soldiers how to be men by providing a free piece of Gears Judgement DLC after the games launch.

Gears of War: Judgement isn’t even out yet and already there are plans for post-release DLC. Popular men’s magazine, Maxim, have formed a sponsorship deal to provide you with a whole new content pack for the latest game in the Gears series. Don’t worry, though, you wont have to pay a penny as this DLC will be completely free. See? Post-release DLC isn’t all that bad.

The DLC will provide you with a new map called Haven and a brand new mode called Execution. Here are the full details:

  • Haven – Formerly a tropical oasis, this ancient monastery in the Azura mountains is now a frozen wasteland, thanks to the tectonic shifts on Planet Sera. Featuring an asymmetrical circular layout, the map is a guaranteed blast – all paths lead back to the center, so no matter which route you take, you’re going to be embroiled in a fast-paced, hectic battle.
  • Execution Mode – In Execution Mode, the objective of each team is to kill all members of the enemy team before the time limit runs out. The catch? Unless hit with a one-shot kill weapon like the Booshka, players go into a “Down But Not Out” state and will revive at the end of the bleed-out timer instead of dying. To finish the job, perform an Execution on a downed enemy.

Not bad to be honest. The game releases on March 19th in America and March 22nd in Europe. This means you will only have around two weeks to wait before you can download this DLC on April 2nd.

With all of that being said, I would get practising your executions. Judging from the new gamemode, you’re going to be doing a lot of curbstomping.
