Halo 4’s Globalicious Tournament Could Net You a Cool $200,000

Are you good at shooting people/aliens in the face from a first person perspective using futuristic weaponry? Fancy talking home a cool $200,000 and possibly a snazzy trophy? Well, you my friend, are in luck, 343 Industries and those nice people from Virgin Gaming* are getting together to hold the biggest Halo 4 tournament ever!

The tournament kicks off at the Rooster Teeth Expo in Austin, Texas on 5th July, and then on Xbox Live on 15th July and will give Halo fans the chance to brutally murder each other (virtually of course) in some sure to be exciting free-for-all matches over five gruelling weeks

Spanning multiple live events and five weeks of head-to-heads on Xbox Live, the tournament is the biggest “Halo 4” competition yet, and will kick off at the Rooster Teeth Expo in Austin, Texas on 5th July, and then on Xbox Live on 15th July. Competitors will test their skill and fortitude against one another in intense free-for-all matches over a series of qualifying rounds (based on average scores and elimination matches), for a chance to rise through the global leaderboards and win coveted prizes.

You can register today via Virgin Gaming by pointing your web browser to www.halo4globalchampionship.com and selecting the custom tournament playlist in Halo 4. and joining is free, you can’t say fairer than that. Each week there will be a different free-for-all mode for players to enjoy.

You need to compete in 20 matches in the tournament playlist each week and finish in the top 4 to qualify for a chance to compete in the Finals. Not only that, each week qualifying players will have a chance to randomly win special prizes (it could be anything, it could be a boat**).

If you prefer your enemies where you can smell them rather than a whole continent away you can rock up at the Rooster Teeth Expo in Austin, TX from 5th  to 7th July, and Gamescom in Cologne, Germany from 21st to 25th Aug and have a crack at the live competition.  Where six lucky/skillful shooter types  will receive an expenses paid trip to participate in the two-day Finals competition in Seattle WA from 31st Aug. to 1st Sept (Online winners get the trip for free too).

So if you fancy yourself a bit of a legend at Halo why not log on and have a go?

*Virgin Gaming people may not actually be nice I’ve never met them.

**It’s almost certainly not a boat
