Master Difficulty and Outpost Reset Coming To Far Cry 3

Yesterday, in a post on the forums players were given details on upcoming changes to Far Cry 3 based on their feedback.

Throughout the game, outposts can be taken. This will redeem the surrounding area of pirates or privateers and grants a sum of experience based on capture method. After a majority of the community requested the option to be able to reset these outposts, Ubisoft decided to take action and add that option in.

Now, in an upcoming patch, players will be able to take the outposts over and over again. Community manager, MSV-Vextor, explains..

“Taking over an outpost as a player also presents a fun challenge; everything from how to approach the outpost to what weapons and tactics to use.”

All incomplete side quests and missions will be hidden until the outpost is captured again, however, any progress in a side mission will not be lost.

For those obsessive who enjoy beating a game on the hardest difficulty, Far Cry 3 has a new challenge; master difficulty. “Seasoned veterans will find themselves challenged by more aggressive wildlife, tougher pirates, and more deadly privateers.”, those up for the challenge after completing the game on Adventurer, Survivor and Warrior, I wish you good luck.

Far Cry 3 has its own map creation feature; players can create their own maps and then share them with the community. In the upcoming patch, several changes will be made to the system, improving its overall performance and making it more user friendly.

The first of these is the option to leave feedback on user-created maps. While one already exists in the game, it be re-worked to give more information to the creator, “intuitive feedback interface and the addition of “feedback tags”” will be added.

A beta-testing mode will also be added to maps, which allow the creator to spectate and see how the map is being played. This will then allow them to improve it as a result of the testing. Players will also be able to search map by others, the “Skip Map” voting is being made more visible and idle kick time will also be removed in custom matches.

A release date has yet to be announced for the patch.
