A major update is on the way for Pocket Minecraft.
Mojang have just submitted a large update to Apple’s App Store, and it should hopefully go live within the next week.
What’s included? For starters, there will be new block types. Netherrack, Nether Brick, Block of Quartz, and Sandstone. There will also be new stair variants, Nether Brick, Sandstone, Smooth Stone Brick, and Quartz.
Additionally, stairs will be available to build in corners.
There will be new sky rendering effects, as well as armor and working signs. Also, for the first time, baby animals will be coming to Pocket Minecraft, as well as the ability to dye sheep different colours and extract leather from cows.
Finally, six crafting slabs will be available for recipes instead of the current three.
While iOS owners have nothing to worry about, Mojang have warned that the newest version of Minecraft – Pocket Edition will only run on smartphone and tablets running Android 2.3 or later.
