Neverwinter gets Fury of The Feywild Update

Neverwinter is a place where it’s Never Winter. Except there can be snow and the occassional bit of frost. Though that’s usually a mage thing.

Neverwinter Nights was this massive RPG that came out years ago from some company called Bioware. It was pretty decent. Clicking and pointing. Pointing and clicking. Lots of that and plenty of dialogue and quests, and XP and high fantasy and dusty old books in libraries.

It got really popular and then got a sequel. That was pretty good too. In fact, it developed this massive mod community like its predecessor. Only it was bigger.

So, it wasn’t really a massive ZOMGWTFBBQSPOILERZ feeling when it was announced Neverwinter would get a new game and it would be an MMO.

And since then, Neverwinter has done a bit alright. It’s got gradual pacing and is building momentum. In the shadow of WoW and Guild Wars 2, that’s definitely something to hold your head up high about. Now we’ve got details about the first content pack, proving that company are facing serious about their product.

Entitled, Fury of the Feywild, the content pack will deliver bigger, offering a new area, new races, weapons and items. It’s going to be a big one and it’s going to drop August 22nd. Admittedly that makes it sound a bit like a constipated turd, but trust me, it’s far from that.

The wood of Sharandar will be appearing in the game and will be full of the creepy and the cooky. From these woods, players will also be introduced to the Sun and Moon Elves and they will also be playable characters. We don’t know why one has a fascination with the Sun and the other the moon, but we reckon its something to do with Vampires. It always bloody is, these days…

Yeah, we’ll just blame the vampires.

Pets will also be upgradeable following this update by spending Astral Diamonds.

There will also be an update to the Foundry, allowing players to build locations in an easier way by just dragging and dropping.

Weaponsmithing and Artificing will be added as professions to the game, in addition to new baddies and gear which we always like to see.

The massive content update is due next month and adds plenty of content for the newly released title. We likes cool, free stuff.
