NieR: Automata will receive DLC under request of voice actor

During a Dengeki live stream today, not only did Square Enix reveal NieR: Automata will have an online element known as the Android System, but it will also have DLC – thanks to one of the voice actors.

Natsuki Hanae – voice actor of 9s – has requested that Square Enix develop downloadable content for the game. More specifically, the actor is hopeful for a costume of Kaine from Drakengard for 2B. Square Enix have yet to confirm this DLC, however, currently stating that its inclusion is unknown.

Huh…That’s a new one on us.

As for the Android System, when players die an Android will be left behind in their place. This android will include various bits of data and plug-in chips. If players recover the android, they’ll get all the data back.

Which sounds a liiiiiittle bit like the Dark Souls and Nioh systems.

There will also be a free PlayStation 4 theme from tomorrow on the store.

NieR: Automata launches on February 23rd in Japan, March 7th in NA, and March 10 in EU territories. A PC version is also expected in 2017.
