Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds isn’t even out yet and DLC is in the works

You know what’s trippy? When developers announce DLC ahead of a game’s release.

Trippier than that? When they announce a price!

In fact, we seem to know more about the DLC of this upcoming game than the game itself.

Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds is due for release sometime this year on XBLA, however, 5pb have announced on their blog that they’re already working on DLC. While it’s untitled at the moment, we’ve learned that the content will include an increased level cap from 50 to 99. There will also be a new character, though details on that character have not been released. There will also be another 100g worth of achievements, bringing the game up to 500 GS.

Oh, and the DLC will sell for 400MSP, while Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds will go for 800MSP.

It’s encouraging to know the game will be supported after it launches, but isn’t this a bit…well…weird?

What do you think about developers announcing DLC ahead of a game’s release?
