Playstation Vita 2.60 Firmware goes live

Playstation Vita has received a new firmware update today that offers a wealth of welcome new features.

Now users will be able to upload and download game sava data through Playstation Plus, as well as quick access certain settings, like brightness and wireless functions.

A PSPlus icon has also been added to a game’s LiveArea screen. Using that, subscribers can upload and download the save game data, but also access their online storage folder having the option to auto-upload save data.

You can also play content saved on a connected device, such as PS3 or PC, with Vita’s video and music apps.

Finally, using the Home button, Vita owners can access the system’s brightness and music controls, disable the microphone and prioritise chat for the party app. Finally, they can get to turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

We’ll be doing an in-depth hands-on soon and will be sure to offer a Firmware Review to see just how good this update actually is.
