The free Poke transfer app allows you to transfer Pokemon from Black and White, and Black and White 2 to the app, which can then be transferred to Pokemon Bank and through that Pokemon X and Y.

There will be an annual payment for the Pokemon Bank app, but there will also be a trial version – so it will be possible to transfer your Pokemon to it using the initial trial, effectively for free.

Pokemon X and Y is released worldwide on October 12th.
