Pokémon Go focuses on Fighting-Types in Battle Showdown Event, Shiny Machop and Shiny Mankey added in-game

Shinies are being added to Pokémon Go at an alarming rate, as a new Battle Showdown Event introduces Shiny Machop and Shiny Mankey to the wild.

Niantic continue to spontaneously surprise us with events as they just dropped the Battle Showdown Event which will run until March 12th, 9pm GMT. Throughout the event, you’ll get 2x Catch, Battle, and Raid Stardust. There’s also 2x XP for Gym Badges.

You can also earn up to five rewards per day from Trainer Battles, and three Rewards per day from Team Leaders.

As it’s a Fighting event, Mankey, Machop, Makuhita, and Meditite will appear more frequently in the wild, with Niantic now adding Shiny forms of Machop and Mankey to the game. Shiny Makuhita and Meditite already existed in the game.

What’s more, a new move has been added for certain Pokémon – Power-Up Punch. This works on the likes of Poliwrath, Hitmonchan, Kangaskhan, Medicham, and Lucario.

Have you caught any Shinies recently?
