In a new blog post from 2K Games, the publisher/developer has confirmed that the XCOM universe is set to expand and a new showing of 2K Marin’s squad-based tactical shooter is imminent.
The 2K blog post doesn’t go into much detail, but it does tell us a little bit about what’s coming up..
Announced back in 2010, the game has undergone an evolution since we last showed it to you at E3 2011. Firaxis’ critically acclaimed turn-based strategy title, XCOM: Enemey Unknown, has reignited the classic franchise and we feel that the time is right to deliver a new experience within the world of XCOM
The blog post goes on to say
2K Marin has refined their vision, and as a result the game has evolved into a high-stakes narrative eperience imbued with core XCOM concepts.
The rest, as they say, is redacted, but more will be revealed in the coming days.
