The oft-forgotten 16 bit mascot, Bubsy, is making a dramatic comeback this month.
Dropping on May 22, Bubsy goes 4D and following a massively successful Next Fest demo release, the hype is actually real this time.
With the latest comic trailer for the game that breaks the fourth wall and has Bubsy joking about poor review scores and launching alongside GTA VI – only to realise the game changed its release date.
Bubsy 4D is seen as a spiritual successor to Bubsy 3D – and sees Bubsy try to reclaim The Golden Fleece, his most prized possession that’s been stolen by BaaBots – all of Earth’s sheep gone bad.
Bubsy will journey into space, using new skills and return to his roots as well as start a new chapter for speedrunners and franchise newcomers.
Bubsy 4D is developed by Fabraz – who previously worked on Demon Turf and Slime San – and has a soundtrack from Fat Bard. It all looks to be an absolute blast!
Bubsy 4D is launching on PC, PS, Xbox and Switch on May 22. It might be time to accept that Bubsy’s comeback may be bigger than any of us expected.
