Counter Strike:GO Gets Shopped!

CS:GO just got the Steam Workshop update and another little surprise.

Valve have a trend of releasing the Workshop for games which are optimal for user created content. CS:GO has been deemed worthy to have a workshop and in the latest patch, it has been implemented.  As with other titles, the Steam Workshop will allow players to create custom maps and models for the game and host them on Steam. You, the user, will then be able to download these maps and skins and use them as you please. At the moment, there are quite a few maps on there that you can download. These range from remakes of classic COD maps such as Killhouse and Favela to Competitive variants of existing CS:GO maps.

If you fancy downloading some of the items, head over to your games library, then click the “browse workshop button”. In doing so, you will be bought to the workshop where it’s as simple as clicking the subscribe button to download a map.

If you just want to browse the workshop you can head over here.

Another little surprise for CS:GO fans in the update is that a new map has been added.

Well, when I say new, I mean a classic Counter Strike map. The map in question? cs_assault. Now you can play the cs_assault map and begin saving hostages whenever you please. There’s no need to pay or download the map as it’s completely free with the new update.

Now if you don’t mind, I’m going to rescue some hostages. Will any of you be doing the same?
