This happens a lot and will also be happening for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. Though the incentive will be slightly different…
Due for release next year on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, those who choose to preorder the game now will receive two key preorder incentives.
The first is the creatively titled Pre-order bonus pack. This includes a limited edition steelbook, including a download token that gives access to Cloud Strife’s gear from Final Fantasy VII. This will also include Cloud’s Buster Sword and the Soldier’s Band. Even Cloud’s victory pose and fanfare have been recreated for the game. This will be available to use at the launch of the game. More specifics surrounding Cloud’s outfit and weapon will be announced at a later date.

There is also the Lightning Samurai Set. This is themed around Samurai Warriors and this is a three-set garb collection. Players can become a Shogun, Sohei Saviour and Flower of Battle through unique items.
The game releases February 2014.
