The launch War Table event for Marvel’s Avengers was absolutely packed with new information.
In addition to a first look at new daily and weekly missions, featuring special showdowns and boss fights, players were also shown a unique gauntlet mode.
These ‘Mega Hives’ include descending floors full of enemies, and the further down you go, the tougher it gets.
The big news, however, is that Kate Bishop will be the first post-launch character for the game. Hawkeye had previously been confirmed for the game, but Kate will be the first added.
Bishop will get a unique mission ‘Taking AIM’ beginning late October, and this will feature a new villain and mystery. The story takes place shortly after the events of the Reassemble campaign.
Kate Bishop has an athletic style with unique hero skills and takedowns. Interestingly, as well, as a student under Hawkeye, her story represents the first of a two-part arc when Barton comes into the game in November.
Post launch heroes will come as free content for Marvel’s Avengers.
Marvel’s Avengers early access is available from now and the game fully launches on PC, PS4, and XO this Friday.
