Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater Remake in Development, Master Collection Volume 1 releasing Autumn 2023

The PlayStation Showcase has just dropped and the highly rumored and anticipated future of Snake has finally been revealed.

A Remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. It will star the original voice actors – presumably meaning David Hayter is back in the saddle – with updated graphics, sound and expansive combat.

At development at the Konami Group and Konami Digital Entertainment, the intention is to build a faithful recreation of the game, which might surprise some people as it was also revealed a ‘Master Collection’ is being prepared for launch this Autumn.

This collection will celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the series and includes the original Metal Gear Solid trilogy: Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (HD Collection versions).

These are being built for players to experience as originally intended on the latest platforms. Most interestingly of all, this is labeled as Volume 1, suggesting we may be looking at additional Volumes. Potentially including other Metal Gear Solid titles, like possibly Peacewalker and maybe 4 going multi-platform for the first time.

It’s a good day for Metal Gear fans. More news to follow.
