Monster Hunter Wilds Expansion Ascendance announced for 2027

During Summer Games Fest, Capcom had a series of huge announcements and one of them pertained to Monster Hunter Wilds.

The highly anticipated, long awaited major expansion for their most recent mainline Monster Hunter game has been announced and it’s called Ascendance.

Coming in 2027, it seems to be crafted in a similar way to Iceborne, the major expansion for Monster Hunter World, and seems to offer a ton of new content to the game.

This was also accompanied by news that Capcom are developing a version of Monster Hunter Wilds on Nintendo Switch 2, which we assume will release in time for the new expansion drop.

Ascendance is just termed as a ‘massive expansion’ as players explore the Skybound Eyrie and apparently lay in fear of Elder Dragons coming along for battle.

Ascendance will, of course, feature new abilities, gear – like the Booster Bracer which adds power to attacks – and monsters to fight, as well as the floating islands location itself.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance will launch in 2027 on PC, PS, Xbox, and presumably Nintendo Switch 2. Capcom continue to be some of the best third party support for the hardware.
