If you thought the Switch 2 launch lineup was complete, guess again!
The wizards at Hello Games had a surprise for us all today, telling us they’d had secret dev kits for a year and had been building No Man’s Sky for Nintendo Switch 2. Best of all, if you already own the game on Switch 1, it’ll be a free update for you at launch tomorrow.
The Switch 2 version features full multiplayer for the first time on Nintendo hardware, cross-save, as well as increased frame rate, texture density, gyro-controls and touch screen.
The Switch 2 version expands upon Hello Games’ work with DLSS on the first Switch and as you can see on the above trailer, it looks absolutely slick and incredible. Possibly one of the best looking third party releases so far.
But Hello Games want to give everyone a slice of the pie and have also released a Beacon update where you can manage multiple planetary settlements, including settlement balance, more management decisions, building upgrades, base parts and more.
This game is a gift that keeps on giving and opens up 9 years of updates to players on day one for Switch 2. Pretty impressive.
No Man’s Sky launches on Switch 2 June 5 and the Beacon update is now available across all platforms.
