Resident Evil Re:Verse reintroduces The Mercenaries to the franchise

Resident Evil Village is coming on May 7th and it has a few surprises in store for players.

Along with the continuation of Ethan Winters story, Capcom are bringing back the 6v6 Multiplayer mode, The Mercenaries, familiar to franchise veterans to celebrate the 25th Anniversary.

It doesn’t seem like it will be available at launch of Resident Evil Village, with the website now reading Summer 2021 launch date but the good news is it’ll be a free addition when it launches.

Re:Verse brings together all the classic Resident Evil characters, from Mr X to Chris Redfield, and even introduces some new, familiar faces, like the Bakers.

Matches will last 5 minutes, and the player with the most points wins, you’ll even be able to collect some items and use powerful weapons to bring down bigger foes.

Interestingly, though, when a character is downed, they turn into a powerful bioweapon which makes them even more dangerous and enables you to rack up more points. You can even pick up Virus Capsules which add to your power output.

It also seems like it’ll be regularly updated, with Capcom have hinted there may be additional content added overtime.

No word on exact launch timings for Re:Verse but as long as you own Resident Evil 8, whether that’s through physical or digital means, you’ll be able to pick up Re:Verse at launch.
