When Midnight Suns first released, a unique take on the XCOM formula but using Marvel characters, I was hooked.
But there’s something about Zero Company that feels like an even more logical match, bringing in the world of Star Wars to the genre and mashing it up in fun, creative ways.
Coming later this month, EA are publishing another game from the license – and while all chatter seems to vere toward the third game in the Cal Kestis saga, this one has got all my attention.
Set during The Clone Wars, players control an elite squad of operatives led by Hawks in a single player, turn-based game that will Fire Emblem fans are also going to be head over heels for.
And if you grab the Deluxe Edition, you’ll also get a Republic Cosmetic Pack with ‘100’ Clone Company Armor, Republic Officer Uniform, and an ARC Trooper Armor Set.
Additionally, there’s a Shadow Collective Cosmetic Pack which offers Pyke Helments that can be customised, symbols and tattoos for Crimson Dawn, Pyke Syndicate, Deathwatch, Black Sun Syndicate and the Hutt Cartel.
Further still, you can get Painted Weapon Themes, including cosmetics for…
- “100th Clone Company”
- “Kafrene Informant”
- “Black Sun Syndicate Enforcer”
- “Bespin Security”
- “Separatist Warrior”
Pre-purchasing the game regardless will also give your droids a change of costume with a Crystalline Astromech Pack, including the R3 droid and translucent crystalline astromech heads for R4 and R5 Droid variants, in addition to the Zero Company exclusive BR-1 droid.
Star Wars Zero Company looks incredible and you don’t have long to wait as it releases on August 27 for PC, PS and Xbox.
