The Witcher 3 Songs of the Past DLC announced for 2027

If you wanted a casual reveal for some blockbuster news on a Wednesday morning, have we got that for you.

The very heavily rumoured, but much requested third DLC for The Witcher 3 is official and it’s coming next year!

Likely serving as a lead into the highly anticipated The Witcher 4 – which this DLC may have indirectly confirmed is also coming next year – Songs of the Past will see players return as Geralt of Rivia in what will likely be a prequel of sorts.

Information is limited but we know it’s launching in 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC and CD Projekt RED will be co-developing it with Fool’s Theory.

You may recognise the name as they are also working on the remake of The Witcher 1 and released The Thaumaturge quite recently. They’ve also previously worked on The Witcher 3.

More information is expected later this summer, but for now the rumour is no longer rumour and this expansion is very real and very exciting indeed.
