Toki Tori 2 to receive level editor in post-release patch

We still don’ t have a firm release date for Toki Tori 2 yet, but we do know it will probably be the first game on Wii U to include level editing features.

Two Tribes, developers of Toki Tori 2 have taken to their blog to build up hype prior to the game’s launch. Firstly, they’ve reconfirmed that off-TV support will be a feature in the game.

They’ve also mentioned the Tokidex Camera which allows players to scan the area around Toki Tori for creatures and objects by using the Wii U Gamepad as a virtual camera with a viewfinder.

However, they also talked about the future of the game post-launch. One of the most exciting points mentioned is the inclusion of a level editor. The developers would ‘love’ players to create their own puzzles and they feel the Wii U Gamepad lends itself to that pretty well. This is something they will get around to later on.

They also mentioned further Miiverse implementation, and would love to see players creating levels then sharing them via Miiverse. They’d even like to see Wii U users creating levels for their Steam counterparts.

They certainly paint an exciting future. Will it ever come to pass?
