In an interview with Dengeki Online, producers on Devil May Cry 5 have suggested that more DLC is planned following the Bloody Palace update.
While we know Bloody Palace – a staple for the franchise – will be a free update for Devil May Cry 5 in April, we don’t know whether any future planned DLC will be free or premium, or, indeed, what other DLC might look like.
The quote comes from Makitaka Okabe when he is asked “Bloody Palace distribution has been announced in April, but is there any other plan for DLC development?”
He replied..
“There are unpublished ones, but please wait for future information about that. As we are all concentrating our efforts on the main part of the game, we hope that you will enjoy the product version first. DLC is preparing things that the user can choose as you like after the main part to the last.”
Devil May Cry 5 is designed to be a self-contained experience, but we do know it will have some form of multiplayer where others can enter your game and you can grade their performance. It’s possible any future DLC could be tied to that, or it could be seperate standalone content, similar to Vergil’s Downfall in DmC.
With the post-launch support Capcom are giving Resident Evil 2, it’s little surprise Devil May Cry 5 might get similar treatment. It’s also likely to be quite extensive.
Devil May Cry 5 will launch on March 8th, but in the meantime, you can download a new demo and get your first taste of demon slashing with Nero. You can even earn 30,000 Red Orbs for the main game if you keep your save data.
