DOOM 1.09 adds bots, Echelon 11 and Infernal Run

Update – This update is said to be brought in line with the imminent release of DOOM’s third and final DLC pack as part of its Season Pass. Entitled Bloodfall, this content is expected to drop on December 13th.

More as we get it.

A ginormous free update for DOOM – the fifth one since launch! – has gone live, adding much requested bots to multiplayer mode, a new game mode called Infernal Run, and Echelon 11.

Bots are now available in both Team Deathmatch and Deathmatch modes. This is a great way to play the content you’ve purchased when there are issues with finding a game. A major issue for us, and a big part of the reason why we’ve yet to review the second DLC in the Season Pass!

Level Cap has also been added and the multiplayer rank extends to Echelon 11, level 50. If you somehow manage to reach the highest ranking, you’ll unlock the DOOM marine armour and be able to equip the signature Praetor Suit.

In addition, the DOOM Marine Armour has been added to SnapMap, as well as some extras from the campaign, and Lazarus Lab-themed mods, props and features.

Finally, Infernal Run has been added as a competitive mode where players have to take control of an eyeball and throw it into the opponents’ goal to score. Sounds great fun.

There’s also a Double XP weekend from now until December 12th, so there’s never been a better time to unlock that Praetor suit!
