02.00 – New pictures to show from the conference

01.30 – Watchdogs has been confirmed as a Playstation 4 launch title.

01.12 – Next-Gen truly begins this year. PS4 out Holiday 2013. All eyes on E3 with more Playstation details to come and surely the announcement of the next Xbox.

01.10 – It’s all over. We didn’t see a console, but we did see some in-game footage. Strange. What did you think?

01.00 – Exclusive Destiny content will be coming to the Playstation community. Destiny will also ship on the Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 at the same time.

00.55 – Diablo 3 is a Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 title. Incredible!

00.50 – Blizzard and Sony have entered into a partnership. What the heck are they going to talk about?

00.45 – Watchdogs has been confirmed for a current-gen/next-gen title. Playstation 4 demo incoming..

00.40 – A spin-off of Dragon’s Dogma and Dark Souls and now an announcement about a new Final Fantasy title. Playstation 4 is bringing the heat. The floor is yours, Microsoft…

00.30 – Yoshi Ono from Capcom. Interesting to hear what he has to say.

00.16 – Now it’s time for David Cage. What has he got to show?

00.15 – The Killzone footage will be available via the Killzone Facebook page after the presentation is finished.

00.12 – The Witness is an open-world. Three or four different destinations with new and interesting things around every corner. There is no filler.

00.10 – Oooo. The Witness from the makers of Braid. I can’t wait to see this.

00.08 – iNFAMOUS spin-off from Sucker Punch. Interesting premise.

00.00 – Drive Club from Evolution Studios is official. Team-based racing. Asynchronous. Set a challenge, and players all over the world can try and beat that challenge 24/7

23.57 – Killzone Shadowfall looks phenomenal. So much incredible in-game footage. Very excited about this one.

23.47 – Guerilla Games. Sounds like Killzone PS4 to me…

23.40 – Gaiki to be the muscle behind Playstation Cloud Service. A service that will enable you to play Playstation 1,2,3 and Mobile games through Playstation 4.

23.38 – The intention is for every game to be playable via Remote Play on Vita. Purchase justified!

23.37 – Remote Play will be a key feature of PS4. Use Remote Play to transfer to PSVita. Knack shown running and it’s fluid!

23.37 – The soul of Onlive definitely lives, but with the money and backing of Sony. Capability built into PS4 for friends to help out. Broadcast gaming will be huge. Become director, drop items into friends games. Take over during a difficult spot. Even spectate on friends games.

23.37 – Gaiki will enable you to play, share and only pay for what you fall in love with.

23.35 – Not only can you play games as they download, but your Playstation will learn your preferences and have games readily installed for you to buy. Intrusive or convenient?

23.30 – The new Share button on the controller enables you to share screenshots and video clips. You can even take over a friend’s game and help them out in a tough spot. This opens up amazing possibilities…

23.24 – Knack is the first PS4 game. It’s directed by Mark Cerny and looks a lot like Kameo 2 …

23.03 – Push the boundaries. Here’s Andrew House

23.00 – Here we go…

21.08 – Hmmm, it seems Evolution Studios might not show a new Motorstorm game, but it will still be a racing game. A domain for Drive Club was quickly found by a NEOGaf user, then swiftly removed. What could it all mean?

19.05 – Join our new chat function on the bottom right of the screen. Say hello and join us for all the upcoming discussion.

18.20 – It appears Pete Hines of Bethesda will be in attendance. While the company probably won’t announce anything, they’re clearly working on a next generation title as he openly states ‘Interested to see how much of what I know I can now talk about. :-)’ – Ooo errr ummm…

13.50 It looks like a Battlefield 4 reveal will be happening at today’s Sony event. The game was shown to retailers behind closed doors yesterday and now DICE have a countdown on their website that just so happens to coincide with tonight’s event. Veeeery interesting…

10:00 – There’s a realm ‘calm before the storm’ vibe right now. Excitement levels are in overload.

01:05 – An interesting and relevant question to us. Just what do you think the DLC scene will be like in the next-generation? How will games be expanded? What kind of place will online marketplaces be and how will they affect our games?

00:55 – Today’s event will serve as a real taste of the good next-generation things to come, and I do think it’s extremely likely we’ll see some game announcements. Media Molecule and Evolution Studios have been teasing us via their Twitter feed about today’s event, so don’t be surprised to see a next-gen Motorstorm or Little Big Planet. We also mentioned Sucker Punch are in the house. Destiny was announced on Sunday for ‘Future Generation Systems’ and Ubisoft have been sending around cryptic invites to press with nothing but the Assassin’s Creed logo on it for February 27th.

00:50 – I hope those got you suitably buzzed. I do think, however, it’s absolutely crucial to manage expectations. Yes, it’s entirely possible we’ll see the Playstation 4. It is unlikely, however, that we’ll get a firm price and release date. It’s also unlikely that we’ll see everything the machine can do. Microsoft set a countdown clock at the beginning of the year which leads them into E3, and while Sony clearly want to be the aggressor this gen and get the word out about their next system first, I do think they’ll keep a few surprises back for E3 so that MS don’t hog all the spotlight later this year.

00:40 – And finally changing the definition of the term ‘gaming’

00:25 – Of course, the home console branch isn’t the only branch on the Playstation tree. Sony also entered the portable gaming market with the PSP and Vita

00:20 – Which brings us to the present day and the all-mighty Playstation 3

00:15 – Followed, of course, by the incredible Playstation 2, the best selling home console of all-time…

00:10 – As you may have seen, Sony have released a series of videos to get us all hyped for today’s event. Let’s look back at them in chronological order. First up, where it all began, with the Playstation 1…

00:01 – We’re not going to deal in rumors here, so we won’t be covering all of the supposed leaks and specs you’ve seen floating around. However, we have heard something quite exciting from GameTrailers. Apparently, Sucker Punch, the developers of the original Sly Cooper games, as well as iNFAMOUS 2, have ‘checked in’ at the Sony event. That doesn’t mean they’re going to show anything, developers the world over have been invited, but it certainly adds a bit of fuel to the fire, doesn’t it?

00:00 – It’s been a challenging generation for the Playstation 3. It’s fair to say that, at one point, developers, partners and fans lost faith in the brand. Now that Playstation is at its strongest again and with Nintendo’s Wii U still fresh out of its box, there’s never really been a better time for Sony to lift the lid on how they intend to take gaming forward over the next ten years.

February 19th 23:50pm – Sony never really got over the incredible popularity of the Playstation 2. In many respects, the Playstation 3 was always fighting an uphill battle trying to follow on from one of the greatest video-game systems of all time. Many of the great exclusives the system enjoyed were bought out by Microsoft overtime; from multi-platform Metal Gear titles to Tekken, and, of course, Grand Theft Auto.

February 19th 23:45pm –We’re less than 24 hours away from Sony’s big reveal. It’s amazing to think that the Playstation 3 is the youngest of this current generation of systems. It also got the slowest start. There’s no denying the immense popularity of Nintendo’s Wii and Microsoft’s Xbox 360. While Playstation 3 certainly is an extremely popular system, Sony were forced to settle for third place in this generation war. That, in my opinion, is a big reason why they’re going for the jugular tomorrow night.
