The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine DLC Wins Big at Golden Joysticks

The Golden Joysticks is an event usually reserved for awarding the biggest stand alone games of the year. And while that was certainly the case with Dark Souls 3 winning Ultimate Game of the Year and Overwatch snagging 3 awards of its own, one piece of DLC from The Witcher was able to take home a couple of its own.

With CD Projekt Red deservedly winning studio of the year, their final piece of Witcher 3 content – Blood and Wine – was able to secure the Best Visual Design and Best Storytelling of any release this year.

Let that sink in for a moment when you consider the competition included Firewatch, Rise of the Tomb Raider, SOMA, Uncharted 4, and Tales from the Borderlands.

It was the only example of DLC to be successful at this years’ event, but let’s face it, this was something truly special and fully deserving of the distinction.

Congratulations CD Projekt RED. We cannot wait to see the continued growth of Gwent and, of course, your Cyberpunk RPG. Whenever that happens.
