Xbox will have next-gen exclusivity of Yakuza: Like a Dragon until March 2021

SEGA has announced today that Yakuza: Like a Dragon won’t release on PS5 until March 2, 2021 in the West.

Xbox Series X owners will join current gen owners of both formats in getting the game on November 10, 2020.

You can, of course, play Yakuza: Like A Dragon through backwards compatibility on your PS5 before then.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon supports Smart Delivery, meaning you can own the Xbox One version and the game will automatically upgrade to the Series X version at no additional charge.

SEGA have also confirmed that PS4 owners will get a free upgrade to the PS5 version when it launches next year.

Interestingly, however, it’s been confirmed that PS4 saves cannot be carried over to the PS5, but you can bring your Xbox One saves across to Xbox Series X.

This is the third confirmed game on PS5 which is incompatible with PS4 saves, with Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Maneater also confirmed to be incompatible.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon will release on Xbox Series X l S, Xbox One, PS4, and PC on November 10th, 2020.
