The Binding of Isaac Repentance just got a Steam Page, listed for December 2020 release

To celebrate the nine year anniversary of The Binding of Isaac, a Steam Page has just gone live for Repentance.

The expansion is currently listed for a 31 December 2020 release date, though this very much might be placeholder.

Considered as more like an Isaac sequel at this point, the expansion is set to get regular blog updates from mid-October and is apparently “90% done”.

For now, the focus is on the PC version with more to come about the console versions at a later stage.

In Repentance, Isaac will descend into the basement to fight new enemies and bosses, gathering new weapons and firing off new combos.

The Nicalis team are saying there’s an immense amount of content in here, including secrets, improvements and features worth 500 hours of gameplay. It is also said to be the final expansion – but we’ve heard this said before.

Key features listed are, as follows.

  • 130+ new items (more than 700 items in total)
  • A full alternate path with brand new chapters and a new final boss and ending
  • 100+ new enemies
  • 25+ new bosses
  • 2 new playable characters
  • 5 new challenges
  • 100+ new achievements
  • 5,000+ new room designs

More on Repentance as we get it. For now, check out the neat page.
