Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA Western Localisation statement made

President and CEO of NIS America, Takuro Yamashita, has made a statement about the poorly received Western localisation of YS VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA.

He apologises for the quality and says the game ‘has not reached an acceptable level by our own standards, but most importantly by yours.’

Yamashita goes on to say that a new translator and editor will go over the localisation, fixing any ‘grammatical errors, typos, inconsistencies, and also to take a fresh look at the dialog and characterizations.’

The plan is to have the work done by the end of November and ‘offer the updated localization free of charge for both Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita version of the game via patch. The Steam version of the game will include this localization in its initial release.’

The team are currently investigating internally the issues that led to this and hope to improve for all future titles.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA released on September 12 this year.
