A very short, simple, but effective tweet has now confirmed the release date for the Age of Empires 2 expansion.

Return of Rome will debut on May 16th as confirmed on Twitter  releasing on Xbox and Windows PC.

Initially announced during the 25th Anniversary celebration of the franchise, very little is still known about the expansion, but we do know there will be store pages by the end of the month as confirmed in the replies.

That tends to suggest we’ll get a lot more information, but for now, it’s great to have a date and know that it isn’t too far away.

Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition is out now on Xbox Game Pass and on Windows PC.
