Will multiplayer eventually feature in Stranger’s Wrath?

We recently revealed leaderboard support will be coming to the Vita version of Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath in a new update.

In a recent interview, however, we’ve learned that might not be the only new feature JAW Ltd are considering for the re-release.

In an interview with ExpansiveDLC, Stewart Gilray at JAW Ltd answered a question around future updates for Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath, and whether the soon to be released patches will be the last work done on the game.

While Stewart neither confirmed or denied anything, he did indicate that JAW Ltd wouldn’t be opposed to adding multiplayer into Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath.

Stewart admitted that time and bandwidth are opposing factors in the creation and distribution of such ambitions, but it’s something they’re seriously considering.

This is a direct quote.

If we had the time and bandwidth we’d possibly consider some type of multiplayer for Stranger, but right now that’s way, way off. Perhaps we’ll do something completely new with that idea, but who knows.

It would be interesting to see how multiplayer could be embedded into the game. Maybe they’re considering time trials or co-op. Heck, maybe it’s Deathmatch?

Perhaps they’ll embed their ideas into a fully fledged sequel or a new intellectual property altogether?

Either way, there’s some exciting plans brewing at the house what built Oddworld.
