It’s been a long time coming, but fans of the much-loved Square Enix-Disney crossover Kingdom Hearts will be happy to know that the third instalment to the series has been confirmed for both the PS4 and Xbox One. This will mark the first time ever a Kingdom Hearts game has appeared on a Microsoft console.
The game, now marked as “in development”, features an older Sora as the protagonist, setting forth on new adventures alongside returning characters Mickey, Goofy and Donald. With the news of Disney recently acquiring Marvel Entertainment, Pixar, Studio Ghibli and Lucasfilm, it’ll be interesting to see the characters and worlds that Sora and his companions will discover in his new journey. Kingdom Hearts 3 will utilize next generation console technologies in order to bring to life a vastly stunning universe of new and recognizable Disney worlds.
As excited as everyone is to know about what Kingdom Hearts 3 will deliver in terms of gameplay, storyline, worlds, summons, battle systems, and all kinds of exciting features, for now we’ll have to make do with the trailer that was revealed in Sony’s press conference on Monday. Exciting stuff!
