No Man’s Sky releases on Xbox One on July 27th and will receive the long-awaited multiplayer update, alongside PC and PS4 players.
Announced on Inside Xbox last night, No Man’s Sky will arrive on Xbox One on July 24th in North America and July 27 in Europe. This will also include a full multiplayer experience as part of No Man’s Sky NEXT.
This will enable you to voyage together with friends, whether you choose to help someone or prey on others to survive. You can build bases and evolve them into complex colonies as part of a team, viewable by the community.
There’s also the opportunity to race exocrafts across alien terrains and even create your own tracks, whether you’re a pirate or a wingman. And, of course, the option to explore the infinite universe, either with friends or encountering random travellers, a feature part of the original pitch.
505 Games will launch the game physically at retail and the Xbox One version will include all content updates available for No Man’s Sky to date, including Foundation, Pathfinder and Atlas Rises.
Hello Games founder, Sean Murray had this to say.
“Multiplayer completely changes the No Man’s Sky experience, it’s emergent, fun and intense in ways we always wanted it to be. I’m so happy this is finally happening. It is genuinely exciting to be able to fully realise the potential so many people could see in No Man’s Sky. This will be our biggest update yet and we’re pumped to be bringing Xbox players along on the journey with us now too.”
More on this huge story as we get it.
