Soulmask heading to 1.0 in Spring 2026 alongside Shifting Sands DLC

Announced during PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted, Soulmask will move out of Early Access next year alongside a new DLC.

The Survival Sandbox game offers a world of multiple civilizations where you try to live off the land, whether that’s rainforests, snow mountains, even volcanoes.

This can lead you to hunting various creature types that live within those habitats, but also exploring ruins and temples. You’ll also need to farm, become rich and even go to war to defend what you’ve built in epic PVP battles with up to 50 players!

The game encourages all sorts of creative possibilities, such as designing custom forms on unlikely terrain, as well as setting traps for the unsuspected but also exploration and adventuring to try and gain an advantage.

Even though it’s still in Early Access, the game even enables Steam Workshop and the option to build Soulmask Modkits so players can add their own unique content to the game.

And when Soulmask comes to 1.0 in Spring 2026, it will also be bringing the Shifting Sands of Ancient Egypt into the game. This update will have a strong combat focus, but also on new building mechanics, seeing as how some of the greatest creations of our world came from this well-documented time period.

But it’s all done in a distinct Soulmask way, with an added alien twist. This includes the building of customisable ships, such as the Tribe Sand Boat and even the Falcon-Class Airship. You’ll be able to add anti-gravity engines to your ship and even sand skids to cruise the desert at speed.

But Ancient Egypt also has its share of horrors and will see players fight against bosses such as the Onyx Scarab and Soulcall Hound.

Further still, four new masks will be added to Soulmask. The Horus Mask which provides Celestial Wings so you can soar through the skies  The Anubis Mask which lets you inflict weakening curses and summon fallen foes to your side.

Also the Sobek Mask that lets you bring about the power of water to imprison enemies and the Amun-Ra Mask that lets you incinerate enemies and turn them into a crisp!

As you’d come to expect from the survival game, the heat of Egypt will prove to be a tough task but equally the chills of evening and the sparse open landscapes could put you at serious risk.

The DLC sounds epic and fantastic and we’re really excited to see more when Soulmask and Shifting Sands release simultaneously for the game’s 1.0 launch in Spring 2026 on PC. If you’re interested in playing Soulmask now, though, you can get the Early Access of the game on Steam at 35% off until January 5th.
