The 90’s were a cool time for gaming. Most people remember home consoles like the SNES and Megadrive, but there was a whole other market happening on the Amiga and PC. Team 17 were a big part of that, introducing the likes of Alien Breed and Worms to the masses.
There was, however, a certain frog that had a big impact on the market.
Since the re-release of Alien Breed on home consoles, Team 17 have been teasing revivals of other classic titles. Today, via the Playstation Blog, all has been revealed.
1993 platformer, Superfrog, will be remastered and expanded for Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita later this year.
As it’s the 20th anniversary of the game, it will benefit from all-new graphics and features.
Debbie Bestwick, Team 17’s Managing Director says
We’re extremely excited about bringing Superfrog HD to PS3 and PSVita; it’s the most requested game that our fans are always asking to see make a return. Now, with the 20th anniversary of the original Superfrog and the recent re-release of our classic survival-horror Alien Breed, we feel the timing has never been better.’
No firm release date has been revealed, but more details are soon to follow.
