No to be confused with Telltale Games’ epic adventure, The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct releases this March, and will now be getting some retail exclusive pre-order DLC.
If you preorder the game on Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 from GAME (UK) or Gamestop (Republic of Ireland), you’ll receive the exclusive Walker Herd Survival Pack DLC.
The pack allows access to an all-new Herd mode where players will fight against endless waves of Walkers. Yeah, it’s basically horde mode…
The pack also offers a new arsenal of melee weapons for the story mode, including a survival knife, sawtoothed machete, kukri, reinforced hatchet and an advanced machete. However, Activision have made it clear that a new game must be started in order to access these weapons.
Survival Instinct is based around characters in The Walking Dead TV show and focuses us Daryl and Merle Dixon, brought to life by show actors Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker. The game sees both characters treading carefully across the Georgia countryside, desperately scrounging for food, water and ammunition.
Interestingly, the DLC seems to be a 360 and PS3 exclusive, as there is no mention of Wii U or PC owners gaining access to the content in the press release.
What’s also interesting is that this is the second story today we’ve had about Horde-like DLC modes ….
