A somewhat spiritual successor to Yoshi’s Wooly World and Yoshi’s Island is dropping this week.

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book – a new first party exclusive to Switch 2 – is out on May 21 and brings the titular dinosaur back to the forefront after his breakout role in the Super Mario Galaxy Movie earlier this year.

As Yoshi, you enter a living encyclopedia in a puzzle platformer designed for all audiences and find lots of unusual creatures and locations within the pages of the book.

Yoshi can even use the abilities of some of the creatures to solve some of the game’s puzzles and get through some of the trickier sections.

The game seems to rely on deeper levels of accessibility and really lends itself to the vibrancy Nintendo are renowned for. From woodland areas to mountaintops, Yoshi will see a stunning, diverse world and it’ll be up to you to explore it top to bottom.

We cannot wait for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. It launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on May 21.
