Antstream Arcade is coming to Xbox next week with playable Nintendo and Sony titles

File this under unexpected, a native launch of Antstream Arcade is coming to Xbox Platforms on July 21.

Pre-orders are open today with the option to purchase an annual subscription or lifetime access to all 1,400 games available on the service.

The platform includes releases from a slew of legacy systems, beginning with the Commodore 64 and going right through to the PS1.

Classics such as Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Bubble Bobble and Metal Slug are available, but surprisingly you’ll also be able to play Nintendo titles on an Xbox for the very first time, including all of the SNES Super Star Wars games, Clayfighter, and Super Hunchback from the GameBoy.

Other classics include the Dizzy collection, Sam & Max Hit the Road, the Arcade version of Mortal Kombat, and the Monty games.

There’s never been a native selection of games like this for Xbox or any other system for that matter as this is the first native console release for Antstream.

What’s more the platform supports cloud game saves, online high scores, resume play, and even mini-game challenges, tournaments and achievements.

New games will also be added to the service every week with more officially licensed retro IPs being added all the time across the spectrum of classic consoles.

Games aren’t owned but are streamed through the platform, so no downloads are needed to dive in and play.

An Antstream Connect event today will reveal more about Xbox coming to the service and equally be hosted every month with new games being announced.
