Avowed gets 1.5 update making changes to fighting classes, loot and enemies

The fantastic Avowed just got a major 1.5 update to make it even better ahead of more planned content later this year.

Patch 1.5 completely overhauls two of the game’s classes – the fighter and the ranger. The talent tree for the fighter has been totally reworked that round out classes compared to Wizard tree. As such, Envoy abilities have all been refunded at no cost in game.

For the Ranger, these abilities include Shadow Step which let you reappear behind the enemy to perform killing blows, as well as throwing a set of poison daggers to hit multiple enemies.

Ranger passives also include a concussive shot where you can shoot an enemies weak point and Sharpshooter so you can deal increased weak point damage within several seconds of each other.

Meanwhile, the Fighter abilities include a deep breath where you can immediately recover all your stamina and reduce stamina actions by 50%. A barbarian smash to deal a powerful blow to the enemy and if it kills them, then absorb a percent of their current stun to use on another enemy.

And passives include a Dual Wield Mastery and Vanguard so you can negate damage from incoming attacks.

In addition, this patch makes the game Steam Deck Verified, there’s new unique items to discover in different places, such as maces, spears, pistols, and even robes.

Enemy abilities have also been changed so some can use player skills and there’s a bunch of community updates that have been made around frame rates, UI/UX changes, localisation updates, balance tweaks and even improvements to cooking and crafting.

The full patch notes can be seen here.

We absolutely adored Avowed and are very excited to see more later this year. It’s now available on PC and Xbox Game Pass.
