Final Fantasy XIV fans got some tough news today with news of the slight delay of the upcoming expansion Endwalker.
Originally anticipated on November 23, Game Director Naoki Yoshida explained the game needed a little bit of extra work, focusing more on stability and maintaining the highest quality.
His emotional response, however, may have just been the biggest story of the day.
In his blog post, Yoshida says…
“As we neared the end of development and I played through everything—from quests to battle content and the like—I just couldn’t contain my desire to further improve Endwalker’s quality, specifically because this expansion pack marks the first major culmination of events in FFXIV so far,”
“Unfortunately, the consequence of this was that we ended up in a situation where we cut into the time required for final quality assurance checks due to this time spent on additional improvements,”
What we did get is a new trailer showing off the expansion in action along with a ton of new details.
It’s a short delay and we’re super excited to check out all the new content, whenever it launches.
