During a PAX West Panel yesterday, Naoki Yoshida announced there’s more Final Fantasy XVI to come.
Alongside the long-awaited port for PC, he’s shared that two sets of premium DLC are in active development and we will get more news on them later this year.
The content seems like it will be story-based, with Yoshida saying ‘one thing that came through particularly strongly was how people wanted to see more of Valisthea’s story and spend more time with her inhabitants.’
It’s entirely possible it could just be Eikon battles, but with the way the game is left off, let’s just say there’s definitely room to explore what happens with some of these characters.
A PC version has also been reconfirmed and is underway, though it is unlikely it will release this year.
This news came alongside the free content update, released today, which adds new cosmetics for Clive and the Onion Sword famous from Final Fantasy III. Other features within the update add some behavioural changes for Torval, text issues, parry timings, and ability cooldowns.
Final Fantasy XVI is out now, exclusively on PS5
