Final Fantasy XVI will have Final Fantasy Mode, Chronolith Trials, and Ultimania Difficulty as end game content

In addition to a Day One Patch for Final Fantasy XVI, the game will have a bunch of end game content.

Final Fantasy Mode (New Game +) unlocks after you beat the game and pops up on the main menu. This lets you carry over player levels, abilities and equipment, while also raising the level cap to 100. There will also be new weapons to craft. Plus if you want to get all trophies, you’ll need to beat it.

Additionally, both training and challenge modes will get an upgrade after you beat the game. You’ll be able to take on a new ‘Ultimania’ difficulty as well as time trial mode known as ‘Chronolith Trials’.

Sounds like there’s plenty of end game content to keep you busy.

Additionally, be sure to update to the latest version of the game when playing on launch day today as this update will focus on some minor issues. The patch weighs in at 300mb and here’s the full changelog.

  • Fix a control flag issue which can make progress impossible under very specific circumstances.
  • Fix an issue wherein the game could close unexpectedly under very specific circumstances
  • Optimize performance in several places.
  • Fix some minor text errors.

Final Fantasy XVI releases today as a timed PlayStation 5 exclusive.
