Breath of the Wild may be the biggest game of 2017 – which is a huge statement when you consider it’s up against the likes of Red Dead Redemption 2, Resident Evil 7, Mass Effect Andromeda and Shenmue 3. To name a few.
But yeah, it’s a big deal, and it’s a Nintendo Switch launch title. Making it essentially a massive system seller right off the bat.
So, of course, Nintendo want your experience with the game to last as long as possible. Which means they’ve announced an Expansion Pass. Whoop!
Available from Day One, users can spend an additional £17.99 to get two DLC packs, as well as an Expansion Pass Bonus on Launch Day.
By pre-purchasing, players will get 3 new Treasure Chests which can be found in the Great Plateau, including a Nintendo Switch logo T-Shirt which can be worn throughout the campaign.
The other two chests will feature useful items which can be used in-game.
The first content pack will release Summer 2017 which adds a new Hard difficulty, as well as additional map features and a new Cave of Trials challenge.
Then in Holiday 2017 there will be a new original story and dungeon added to the game, as well as additional challenges.
Content packs will not be available seperately, so must be bought as part of this bundle for the time being. An interesting choice as often content can be grabbed seperately.
We’ll report on this more as we get it.
