Play Halo Infinite on your phone as Project xCloud comes to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from September

Phil Spencer has confirmed that Project xCloud gaming will be added to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate memberships from September.

What this means is that you can play more than 100 Xbox Game Pass titles on your mobile device from the cloud. This will include Halo Infinite at launch!

This is a massive statement of intent from Microsoft that truly shows the exciting future they have planned for gamers over the next few years.

While the Xbox team today reconfirmed that all games will play and look best on Xbox Series X, this new cloud-based feature will enable you to continue games wherever you are.

This motion not only shows that Microsoft are now in direct competition with both PS5 and Switch, but that they’re also blazing their own trail as to what the future of games looks like.

Some even argue that this is a ‘deathblow’ to Stadia, Google’s new game streaming platform.

Xbox have further recommitted that there will be no major Xbox Series X console exclusives for the first few years, with games still releasing on Xbox One for the foreseeable future.

They’ve also reconfirmed backward compatibility for Xbox Series X across all four Xbox generations from Day One, previous gaming accessories will be compatible with Series X, and Smart Delivery which means you’ll always have the best version possible dependent on which console you own.

On top of that, Xbox Play Anywhere digital titles can be bought once and played on both Xbox and PC.

Xbox are hosting a major Games Showcase on July 23rd which gives a first look at the Halo Infinite Campaign and will likely make some big announcements.
