Project Octopath Traveler gets surprise demo

Bravely Default and Bravely Second producers at Square Enix are creating a Switch exclusive RPG called Project Octopath Traveler.

Still considered a ‘working title’ and early in development, the game has received a surprise demo on the eShop.

Project Octopath Traveler will allow you to play as eight different characters, each with different abilities and stories, and your actions determine how the overall story plays out.

The game also has a unique 2.5D style which the developers are calling ‘HD-2D’.

Combat will be turn-based and it is considered a golden-age, ‘true RPG experience’ according to the trailer.

The demo is available on the eShop now. Project Octopath Traveler currently has no release date.
