Star Wars Battlefront II Progression Update redesigns the game March 21

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is getting a massive, game-changing title update from March 21.

The progression system also adds changes to in-game cosmetics.

With the new update, Star Cards can only be earned through gameplay and will not be purchasable. Now you will earn experience points for classes, hero characters and ships you choose to play in multiplayer and if you earn enough XP to gain a level, you’ll also get one Skill Point. This can then be used to unlock or upgrade an eligible Star Card you’d like to equip.

What’s more, you will now keep everything earned and unlocked, which includes heroes, weapons, and Star Cards. And everything you’ve already earned will be compatible with this update.

Crates will now contain credits or cosmetic emotes and poses, but nothing which impacts on gameplay. These are still daily login rewards. And from April, you’ll be able to get new appearances which can be unlocked with in-game Credits or purchasable Crystals.

This is in addition to all the continued balance patches and modes coming to the game in the next few months.

Big changes, then. We’ll check the update out next week and report back.
