Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC presentation postponed due to Coronavirus

In a leaked excerpt from a Famitsu column, Game Director Mashario Sakurai has said an upcoming Smash DLC publisher presentation has been postponed.

Sakurai said he was due to speak to a publisher and ‘present a plan for a new fighter’ but the meeting was cancelled due to Coronavirus.

It’s unclear what the full impact on Smash will be, but there was obvious concern about the meeting taking place as if someone is found to have the virus, the building would be shut down.

From the tone of the post, it does seem like this would be in the early stages of development, so it may not affect the first announcement in Fighter Pass 2, but we’ll know more in the coming weeks.

Coronavirus is having a massive impact on the games industry on a global scale, with many companies transitioning into remote working.

Stay safe out there
