One of this months’ most anticipated releases is a return to the world of Lord of the Rings.
Tales of the Shire takes you to the humble dwellings of Middle Earth’s smallest and most friendly creatures – Hobbits – and in it, creates a warm, fulfiling game that will be a dream for fans of the material and those who are looking for their next cozy fix.
Many years in development, Tales of the Shire will finally release July 29 and is a first from Wētā Workshop who did all of the stunning visual effects for the films and many others since.
You’ll create your own Hobbit in Bywater and will help the town flourish by decorating, trading, preparing meals, building friendships, foraging, fishing and much more.
Days will pass and new possibilities emerge as well as secrets and treasures to uncover and different weather to contend with. There’s story progresion to work through and iconic characters to meet, built alongside club missions with daily activities.
It sounds simply delightful and certainly nice to see this side of the Lord of the Rings universe compared to the more action-centric titles we’ve had in the past.
Tales of the Shire launches on PC, PS, Xbox and Switch on July 29.
